YAYY Procrastination. Not.

Or, I Am So Fucking Bored I Don't Give A Shit (Reprise)

Really, how else do you explain the sudden lack of work done? (Apart from TVTropes and fanfic, but we won't go there.) (Or the inexorable flood of assignments/exams/other shit, but we won't go there.)

I haven't done any proper work in about a week. And now, well, shit. If only weekends were longer, but that would be defeating the point of a week-end, which are like bookends to a week, and now I'm not making any sense so I'll stop now.

Really, I just feel like unleashing a ton of xkcd/TVTropes linkys here, so, just go here before I change my mind: http://xkcd.com/

Over and out.

P.S. If you want to fin out what I'm meant to be mentally unprepared for, just read the tags, it'll help some.
P.S.S. Nobody gives a shit about the election, but it still looks like a hung parliament for now.
P.S.S.S. Jim's changed his blog theme @ http://duvrangnir.blogspot.com/.
P.S.S.S.S. Someone tried to blow up Discovery Channel HQ in the US. He died. The lesson, kids, is to no blow up stuff, because you'll die, one way or another. I know people die, but really, I'd rather die when I'm good and ready.

Signing off.

Cross country and-- STOP INTERRUPTING ME!

WTF? Apparently I've done...ah, right.
WTFOMGBBQ IT'S NOT IN THE POST LIST?!
OH, RIIIIGHT.
I think it was the name of the OTHER post on Cross Country I did before I changed the name.
iTunes had better work today.
WTF IT'S STILL NOT WORKING?!
Mass email sent.
OH SHI--- I ACCIDENTLY FORGOT TO DELETE DAD'S AND MY EMAIL ADDRESSES. OOPS.
FREAKING HELL, I REINSTALLED ITUNES AND ITS STILL NOT FREAKING SHOWING UP WHEN I START IT ON MY XP COMPUTER WHAT THE HELL?

What was I going to post about? Ah, right.
CROSS COUNTRY WAS MEH. I mostly walked with Linly and Jenny because I couldn't run for long periods with this cold.

Right, that's it, I'm uninstalling iTunes from this computer.

Where was I?
Anyway, so the only bits where I was actually running was bits of the downhill sections, where Jenny & Linly were "flying" (like an aeroplane) and so I had to keep up with them. But then I run out of puff HALFWAY down the hill and basically they run faster than me, so end up having to catch up to them...

WHY THE F*** WOULD YOU NEED TO VALIDATE MY ITUNES INSTALL WHEN YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO BE F***ING UNINSTALLING IT AND IT'S A FREE DOWNLOAD FROM APPLE ANYWAY?!

Back to yesterday. Right.

WTF ITUNES WHY WOULD YOU NEED TO RESTART TO COMPLETE AN "INSTALLATION" THAT'S ACTUALLY AN UNINSTALLATION?!

Right. Yesterday.
But then, my walking speed is actually FASTER than Linly and Jenny's walking speed, so then I end up catching to them.
And then, when we're finishing, ...

FREAKING HELL I'VE REINSTALLED ITUNES AND IT STILL ISN'T WORKING WTF?
Good, my nose isn't bleeding any more.

Several hours later:
Right, sorry 'bout that, my internet was disconnected to make way for permanent installation of the Ethernet cable to these rooms upstairs.
DAMNED ITUNES PROBABLY STILL DOESN'T WORK.
QUICKTIME WORKS F***ING BETTER THAN IT, BUT IT DOESN'T KEEP A LIBRARY. AND IT ONLY PLAYS ONE FILE AT A TIME. DAMN IT! (At least it can play protected files.)
DAMN IT, HURRY UP AND CONNECT MY INTERNET!
FREAKING HELL, WMA DOESN'T PLAY VIDEOS. HMPF.
YAYY I CAN HAS "PARLEZ-VOUS FRANCAIS?"!
YAYY INTERNET'S BACK ON!!!!

Where was I? Ah, right.
So then, when Jenny and Linly and I were walking back in to the finish line, people were like, "come on, run!", and we were like, "Nah, we're walking the rest of it." and like, fully "too cool to race" sauntering down to the finish (well, I was, anyway) and then someone was like "So who's going to put their foot over the line first?", and then I put my foot over the line a literal millisecond before Jenny did, while Linly was lagging behind with Sandra, who'd already finished, so she came ABSOLUTE LAST, then Jenny came second last and I came third...last.

So then some things happened (out of order):
  • My chocolate melted.
  • I went to ask if anyone in the 15's race came in after Linly. Apart from David X., who was STAYING HOME AS PER USUAL. AHAHAHA HE LIVES NEXT TO A CONSTRUCTION SITE NOW, BECAUSE HE'S MOVED AWAY (from Bonita, that is.)
  • I walked up and down (half) the length of of the oval.
  • I took out my umbrella.
  • I saw Ms B_____ and Mrs L_M____ with lemon ice tea, BUT I RAN OUT OF COINS BECAUSE I WAS BUYING CHOCOLATES FROM MONICA AND SNAKES FROM ABBI POOH.
  • I noticed I'd sweated clean through my singlet, which I'd been stupid enough to think I needed. (Damn my stupidity!) At least I hadn't sweated through my shorts, which I'd worn under my trackpants, which Abbi wondered how I managed to run in them (the same way I run in them when I'm playing cricket/soccer)
Oh! I've forgotten to mention some things that happened.
Right, so after we arrived at the oval, I took a copy of the program; dumped my bag near Didi/Anu/Bonnie/Amelia/blah; had a nap and woke up 40 minutes later to Ms R______, my sports teacher, calling for the 14's to go to the "Marshalling area" (which was really the part of the road at the corner of it near the toilet blocks).

{real-time note: "pyrite" skin for WMA is pretty cool. Steampunk, almost.}

And then I bought the aforementioned block of Top Deck chocolate (which became the subject of a photo which I can't post right now due to not having a) my USB cable for my phone b) appropriate software for said smartphone (2005 Hong Kong version thereof)) from Monica and a bag of TNCC snakes from Abbi.

{real-time note #2 : browsing the forum & AHAHAHA Jim has no idea who Nancy is HAHAHA}
{real-time note #3 : still browsing the forum &, well, I have a pdf of it, and the original piccy's 2.25 MB ('cause it's a screenshot), and you get to see my very nice Firefox skin. Unfortunately, I can't upload it. Ah, here it is. It's big, though.
}
{real-time note #4 : Wow, my sense of gravity is warping, I feel like I'm on an inclined plane. It doesn't help that the computer monitor is set at an angle to the front of the desk and that I'm typing in a completely dark room with no other sources of light. And that I'm actually leaning to type because the keyboard's a little too far away, but now I can have more stuff on the table. Here's more piccies, pixel art this time.
Yeah, it was a weird feeling. No wonder I was dropping sideways out of the chair and onto the printer (not shown, to left of desk)}

Right, so after I bought chocolate and snakes for the glucose value for the Cross Country, I ate 6 squares of it, and Freya asked me to pose for a photo. (She called it a "seduction pose". Her words, not mine. Her words.)
And I sort-of Twittered it on my phone. (Can't use Twitter on this piece of scrap plastic, so I saved it to notes.) I'll just type it all up verbatim, yeah?
"Cross Country carnival
9:49
Had a nap, bought chocolate (Top Deck) and lollies (snakes) for glucose value. Ate 6 squares of chocolate.
14 boys and girls to marshalling area.
So glad don't have to run lap of oval.
Posed for Freya.
27 mins till start of race.(10:20 start)
Drank half my juice in one gulp already.
10:00
Ate another 3 squares of chocolate. Drank all of my juice. 14s have started.
WTF happened to the rest of the grade?
Today's hot. Especially with this singlet on.
10:10
Some guy had a diablo. [FREAKING AWESOME, it was.]
Marshalling area now.
Had to take a water bottle, I'd die otherwise."
[/quote]
Then we started at 10:18 (my watch) and we finished about an hour later, significantly revised down from previous estimate of 2 hours at 2.5 km/h.
Ooh, and then after that, I went down to sit with Victor/Amanda/Rong/Michelle where Victor was making up "sexfics" (don't ask) about stuff like Naruto, Bleach and figure-skating (due to him reading Amanda's "midnight tweets"), for which Amanda later proceeded to give Victor a lecture on while the below people proceeded to sing random songs.. Victor refused to do one on Doctor Who, on being informed that that was my particular fandom. Double standards, Victor.
Then Shelley and Tina and Bonita and Dominic joined us and I moved my bag (to get the chocolate out of the sunshine), and then Dominc and Victor had a "dizzy race" and I accused Victor of cheating because he started spinning later and he did slower spins and less of them before running.
And then, after Amanda'd lectured Victor on the disciplines of figure skating and Tina made a clover chain for Victor as a bracelet, they ran off, leaving me with Shelley and Bonita and Dominic for company, and they started singing songs which I didn't remember well from a few years ago, and then they got stuck on Telephone. I came to the rescue with my lappy, and then the bell rang for lunch.
Then I got changed, sprayed too much deo in the changerooms, some REALLY SMELLY water drained past the toilet block, I went to the locker and shoved my sport clothes & shoes in, and then it was Geo, and Ms B______ was like, "If you haven't got the coastal management thing today could you please hand it in I need it sometime in the next half-week" and we watched a video.
Then it was maths, and I asked Mr W__ why we learned variation anyway, even though it could all be done with equations, or punching it in the calculator. He said that it was to "train your mind to think in different patterns" even though "it could be more easily done by punching it in the calculator", but not until after he'd delivered a lecture on how useful a thing was didn't determine whether or not it should be learned, using this example:
W___: "For example, learning about the Somme isn't really important, but I think it should be learnt anyway as part of our history"
Beatrice: "The lesson is: never join up for war"
Ashley: *I forget what he said, jog my memory.*
W___: "Way to contradict my point, guys."
Beatrice: "Was it WWI or..."
W___: "WWI. Remember, WWI had trenches and-"
Beatrice: "WWII had tanks."
Me: "It had Hitler."

So then it was Ag, and if you got an email from me, you'll know what we learnt in that lesson.
NOTE: Friday split off to different post, this one's too long already.

Mon dieu, j'ai besoin d'un boisson

If you, like Xiong, ghost my blog, absorbed the whole of TVTropes AND read some French (or have access to Google Translate), you should get the reference.
Maybe I should down the entire contents of the champagne bottle in the fridge downstairs in the kitchen. (On the first floor here, avec my more reliable computer.) Not much has been drunk out of it, may I add.
Well, merde.
Haven't done anything remotely productive in the holidays. And now I'm going to get owned by the Geo test.
On an unrelated note, have I stated often enough that I love my massage cushion?
On another unrelated note, I like my Firefox Persona/skin. It's like, nice and floaty. And did I mention that it looks like an elaborate version of a fleur-de-lis? Very relevant, that. To my novel, that is.
...wait, what. There's a fleur-de-lis skin for Firefox?
Meh. It's just not classic like mine is. (I didn't create either of the skins, BTW, I'm just using it.)
It is very remiss of me to [synonym of "forget" starting with "o"] to install Australian and French dictionaries for Firefox on either computer.
Merde. Neither dictionary is compatible with this version of Firefox (3.6.3).

I'll split off the novel discussion into a separate post, yeah?
This is a medium-length collection in semi-list format of long updates on my life, eh?
Today was the first day of school. I'll put it in a tag, too.
What a nice bookend to the holidays.
Anyway, I have a new favourite song album, I can't pick a song, most of them are good. It's called Pays Sauvage by Emily Loizeau. I borrowed it from Parra library last week. Also, most of the songs are in French.
Anyway, about school.
Meh. Wasn't as bad as expected. LOL, W_____ didn't show up for the French test AS USUAL. Instead we got a sub and our first "Ça Va?" magazine. It's not as hard as expected, but I've only had the barest of flips through. Damn, wish I could have free entrance to Parisian museums, like the Louvre and Versailles. (Hey, that's what it said. Not to mention that free entrance to Versailles would be useful, also for the novel.)
Ag, c'est comme d'un seau [bucket] d'eau froid. SO MUCH. IT'S SO MUCH STUFF I SHOULD'VE DONE. Merde.
Science was two periods of "WTF, Mr K________" as per usual. I wonder if he's even going to bother to explain what induction is. Like Han (last time), when he was talking about Tesla, I was like, "Tesla coil...". Yeah, not much there.
English was moderately cool; we had a video. Which I promptly slept through. Hey, what d'you expect? I'd only had a few hours of sleep.
IPT...ah, shit. No comment.
And that was my (out-of-order) day.
Did I mention that Sunday Doctor Who was cool?
Especially the food scene.
Music's random, though.
Font of opening title's kinda random too.
Right, I should get back to Geo, then IPT.
EDIT: J'ai oublié! Bon anniversaire, Becca!

Je me sens comme de la merde maintenant (WARNING: Contains PLENTY of profanity (by my "uptight" standards))

I woke up this yesterday morning- OK, at 4:30 am -feeling like I'd actually get something done.
It's a foregone conclusion (NOT in the Shakespearian sense, in the normal sense), isn't it.
Well, fuck it.
I went on a combined Archive Binge AND Wiki Walk AT THE SAME TIME.
You can imagine what wonders that did for my IPT study/sleep schedule.
Alice? I second that post. Except replace "dota" with "TVTropes" and "tumblr" with "foruming/twittering/attempting to blog".
FUUUUU...

Internet Backdraft Warning: contains profanity

Mood: rage. You'll see why below.

WHY DON'T YOU FREAKING ANAL-RETENTIVE D***WADS TELL ME WHY THE FUCK YOU HATE ME TO MY FUCKING FACE, ASSHOLES? IF YOU HATE ME THAT MUCH, YOU EITHER FUCKING DEAL WITH IT OR TELL THEM POLITELY OR MAYBE GIVE THEM A GOOD POUNDING DISCREETLY blah blah blah.

OK, I get the Linda Wu backdraft. Supercilious, maybe. Clingy, definitely.
But what I don't get is why the hell people (read: most other boys who aren't friends of other girls) hate me so much. Surely I'm not that bad?
No seriously. Why the **** is dancing with me so bad that you either a) dance with some other boy or b) mention me in a blog post in a tone usually reserved for Linda Wu in some corners of the grade? You know who you are. You were both in the same PE super-class as me last Tuesday. Bâtards.
Oh look, I need a tag for angst. Maybe I have bipolar. Maybe I'm just a tsundere kuudere person with mood swings (and accompanying mood whiplash).
But anyway. The Love "Meme" is highly recommended to make someone feel all fuzzy inside. You can find it here. So, at least the backdraft isn't universal.
