Why? Oh, because we have to find a picture of the horrible side of war and "deconstruct" it. However, according to the TVTropes definition, that's what these pictures are really doing to the lovely golden MYTH that war is a glorious thing and dulce et decorum est pro patria mori, from memory. (That's Latin for you.)
