Comedic Election Coverage (Which Probably Isn't Mine)

or, I Swear That Was Either A Stealth Coffee or Doctor Who Joke
It has come to my attention (such that it is) that there is no election coverage on my blog. At. All.
As a seasoned WH40K player might put it, "This! Is! Heresy!"
To make up for this appalling shortfall, I shall have to inject some coverage of it, even if it is, quite, annoying, anvillicious, inappropriate, and/or coverage of coverage.
BIAS DISCLAIMER: And if you don't know already, my family normally votes Labor, and I'm still not persuaded on Abbott, i.e., I'm of a left-leaning persuasion. That is, Labor-voting. So, if you aren't prepared for vaguely biased perceptions, I suggest you get your ideological goggles out and your flame-thrower. I'll be waiting.
That's nice. Very nice. *slow clap* They've (that is, Lateline) put the Labor minister (Stephen Conroy) in front of a blue background, and the Liberal one (*something, p'rhaps Tony* Smith) in front of a red one.
And the Chaser really were the Lateline warm-up act. (I think they also did the lead-in summary.)
Right, so today I got a diagnosis for...whatever I've got. 'Tis (apparently) an early lung infection.
Ow, my back. And my neck, shoulders, and arms. Ow.
So, the first bit of today's election campaign was Gruen Nation--
Ooh, just thew up on the kitchen floor, don't worry, I cleaned it up. Ooh, my legs are numb and lungs are kinda noisy. What I wouldn't give for a massage or a walking stick. Oh, wait, I might have some. Just not now. And anyway, that was meant to be a metaphor. Ow, my feet are numb and I've not sat on them!
Sorry about that, it's just that-erm, how shall I put this?-I'm not exactly in the best of health at the moment. And I think my brain's a little foggy. Ooh, ow. Looks like I definitely need some self-prescribed bedrest for a week, IMHO.
Anyway, back to the campaign trail - Gruen Nation was first up on the ABC's schedule tonight (well, that I watched, anyway), and it was kinda reminiscent of the Chaser. A little bit. I especially liked the text-ads that scrolled down and then back up. That was nice.
And then it was the Chaser's War On Everything Yes We CanWillberra! And apparently Obama's suing for that-NOT. I'm not sure how many of those tweets were real, but they most definitely were funny. And don't forget the Latham Hand Cam. Especially the silly bits. And I bet they timed the tweet and the toiletend bit perfectly. Oh, and the Hansen-in-hot-tub bit. Yeah, that was silly too.
Oh, and about that subtitle, there was a bit about a coffee ad (for Vittoria Coffee), and they were talking about thoseinsanelyfasttalkerstheyemploytodothecampaignads and what they do outside of doing commercials for both parties during the run-up to the election and the obvious answer (doing those PSAs for governments and charities pushing an issue other than their lack of government revenue (i.e. charity appeals) they were complaining about the casting of Al Pacino as the face of said coffee ads and not the really fast speakers from the end of those election ads. Who, apparently, drink 20 cups of coffee in the morning, so much so, that he started tapping out a rhythm on the table. And he was wearing a large, round ring.  And I heard that one of them was a fanboy...alright, enough with the Epileptic Tree planting.
LOL, how long did it take to run the warning for Jekyll (which I managed to miss first time round, but it has Steven Moffat as the writer, so, Nightmare Fuel unleaded ahoy!)? Around two minutes?
Ooh, look at that Slasher Smile!
OK, WTF is with those ads on the side?
Alright, now I probably should be heading off to bed about now...Night, everyone.
